A COVID-19 third-party Jobsite Safety Accountability Supervisor (JSAS) is required for all large construction projects in California. This includes residential construction of ten or more units, commercial projects of 20,000 or more square feet, and mixed-use projects that meet either of these criteria, along with infrastructure projects that require 20 or more workers at a time.
The requirements are as follows:
That’s where Essel’s outside construction safety team comes in.
Essel staff are fully trained and certified in JSAS inspections and COVID-19 regulations.
While others may outsource tasks to the lowest bidder, we use only in-house professionals.
We work quickly but leave no stone unturned to ensure your interests are fully protected.
We follow all JSAS requirements, inspecting the property as often as needed and at least once per week during working hours. Within 7 days of each visit, the JSAS is required by law to produce a written assessment which identifies any failures to comply with the directive.
That doesn’t mean the JSAS is your enemy. We will work closely with your own designated COVID-19 supervisor to fix the problem as quickly as possible. We make your employees’ health and safety a priority, while helping you avoid shutdowns for non-compliance or because you had an outbreak on your site.
For years, Essel has provided environmental and employee health and safety consulting services to residential and commercial construction companies. We offer everything from environmental site assessments to EHS support services.
Because we already have people trained to help your team with site safety and industrial hygiene, we were able to rapidly pivot to supporting COVID-19 response management. Our people will coordinate with yours to ensure not just compliance but a higher level of safety for your employees. Contact us to get started.
